This is for everyone who looks at my model, or me, and says "those clothes are only for tall skinny types - let me know when you change that!"
A friend wanted to support my brand and asked me to let her know when I made something that would fit women with larger chests. It wasn't the first time I'd had this question! This friend is shorter than me and has a very different body type, but she loves to dance and go to parties, even as the mother of an 8 year old. She wanted to buy my first design, a black lace, flare leg, sleeveless V-neck body suit. She has an incredible career and the biggest heart, she's exactly the kind of woman I want to support and help feel like a Queen. I asked if perhaps she could try on a size L and just see. She did, and she loves it and has been getting great use out of it! She just needed a larger size.
I sold the same black lace bodysuit in size XL to a Brazilian DJ with a juicy, voluptuous curvy figure from neck to knees. She performed in it throughout last year's Halloween season and LOVED it.
All this is to say, please don't say no before you try it. Just come to my space in the Garment District and we'll work with you to find the right size. Working with my producers, who are the best in NYC, means my garments fit incredibly well on a wide variety of bodies. We did a lot of work to get the sizing right. It's such a joy to see different types try them on and look and feel fabulous in their own unique way.
It takes a lot of resources to start a clothing brand. Way way more than you might realize. I plan to do more photoshoots with a diverse range of models one day soon, but for now I'm just trying to get the designs out to you, so let me know if you want to try something on for size or have it custom made. Making our fashion locally means we can do that! :)
