NYC Designer Michelle Palmer | Luxury Silk & Lace Womenswear
Hi, I'm Michelle - a mom, artist, designer and more...

Michelle Palmer is a highly acclaimed fashion designer based in New York City. She found her way into fashion through her creation of hats, headpieces and wearable art, beginning in 2013. Her talent landed her a year in her own exclusive shop on 37th Street and 8th Avenue through a grant from an arts nonprofit. Michelle's work quickly gained notoriety and was featured in major NYFW shows and on international stages.
Michelle's talent for clothing design was discovered by one of NYC's top garment producers, who walked by her shop and saw the garments she'd made to pair with her headpieces. He recognized a "once in a generation" talent and helped her adapt her garment designs for women everywhere. He introduced Michelle to the head rep at Klauber Laces, a lace company founded in 1859. He was so moved by the garments Michelle was designing with their lace, that he asked to join the venture, and Michelle Palmer Design LLC was born.
The powerful combination of the best local production, the best local fabrics and materials, and Michelle's rare design talent, is the foundation of our little company. We're friends who love collaborating - and that keeps it supportive, positive, and long-lasting. We are also looking at ways to make our venture low or free from plastic, and then to share that innovative mindset with other fashion companies. Stay tuned for more information about our work in this area. We're taking this step by step!
Above all Michelle seeks to serve women who want to feel empowered yet feminine, glamorous yet comfortable, as they balance elements like career, motherhood, social life, travel and more. The elevated goddess vibes of her headpieces are present in her garments, but in a way that translates effortlessly to all aspects of life.

Heritage & Materials: The Story Behind Every Piece
The Klauber Lace Partnership
Michelle Palmer Designs works exclusively with Klauber Bros. Lace, a heritage lace house established in 1859—making it one of the oldest lace manufacturers in America. Andy Larivee, Klauber's head representative for over 30 years, recognized Michelle's design talent and she became the first client he ever personally invested in.
In his three decades with Klauber, Andy had never believed in a designer enough to invest—until he saw Michelle's work. That vote of confidence from someone with 30 years of industry experience opened doors: working with Klauber's master artisans, developing custom lace, and receiving guidance from someone who truly understands luxury fashion production.
The poppy flower lace featured in our Poppyseed collection was designed exclusively by Michelle and produced by Klauber's artisans using techniques passed down for over 165 years. This lace exists nowhere else in the world—it's ours alone.
Premium Silk from NYC's Garment District
Every silk piece in our collection is made from $60-$70 per yard premium silk sourced directly from suppliers in Manhattan's Garment District. We use silk charmeuse, crepe de chine, and back crepe sateen—fabrics chosen for their drape, durability, and that unmistakable luxury feel.
Japanese Linen, Denim and Cotton
Many of our pieces use the finest natural fabrics from Japan, sourced from suppliers in Manhattan's Garment District. These pieces are designed to look more beautiful the more you wear them, improving over the many years you enjoy them. Michelle works directly with fabric suppliers, choosing materials made with sustainability and environmental health in mind, without compromising quality.
Made in New York City
All Michelle Palmer garments are cut, sewn, and finished by skilled artisans in NYC's Garment District. We work with one of the city's most respected garment producers, who has over 30 years of experience and recognized Michelle as a "once in a generation" design talent.
This local production means every piece is made-to-order with meticulous attention to detail. It takes 2-3 weeks because we're not pulling from a warehouse—we're creating something specifically for you.
